Vampire Weekend lanza los primeros dos sencillos de su nuevo álbum
Como se había prometido, Vampire Weekend ha lanzado los primeros dos sencillos de su nuevo álbum, Only God Was Above Us. Las nuevas canciones, “Capricorn” y “Gen-X Cops”, llegan con videos musicales tipo collage que utilizan películas y metraje de Steven Siegel, el fotógrafo cuya obra “Subway Dream 11” también es la portada del nuevo álbum de Vampire Weekend. Vampire Weekend anuncia la gira Only God Was Above Us
Vampire Weekend también ha anunciado la gira Only God Was Above Us. La gira comienza en abril con el concierto (agotado) de eclipse solar total de la banda en Austin, Texas. El tour contará con la participación de LA LOM (también conocidos como Los Angeles League of Musicians), The English Beat, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mike Gordon, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Princess (con Maya Rudolph y Gretchen Lieberum), Cults, Mark Ronson (con un DJ set), The Brothers Macklovitch y una banda tributo a Billy Joel llamada Turnstiles. Only God Was Above Us se lanzará el 5 de abril. Koenig escribió “Capricorn” y coescribió “Gen-X Cops” con el baterista Chris Tomson. El líder de la banda produjo la primera canción con Ariel Rechtshaid, y coprodujo la segunda con Rechtshaid y Tomson.
