Atlas: Una nueva película de ciencia ficción en Netflix

Much like the mech that Jennifer Lopez is desperately trying to regain control of in its new teaser, Atlas is a movie that appears to have dropped almost out of nowhere. Premiering on Netflix in a couple of months, it promises sci-fi action, an AI threat and less surreal romance than This Is Me… Now: A Love Story. At least… probably? Take a look at the first trailer below:

La trama de Atlas

Lopez here plays Atlas Shepherd, a data analyst who doesn’t play well with others. Sour thanks to some mysterious incident in her past, she’s recruited for a mission to track down a renegade robot. But as she’ll come to learn, perhaps the only way to win is not to pl… Sorry, that’s War Games. Instead, she’ll learn that her only hope of saving humanity’s future might just be to trust it.

Un film para los fanáticos de la ciencia ficción y los mechs

Fans of Titanfall and various other mech-happy stories might see some similarities here, but the film, which shot in 2022 is finally ready to see screens, and we’ll find out how much DNA it shares with them.

Escritores y director de Atlas

Written by Leo Sardarian (with more recent re-writes by Aron Eli Coleite), and directed by Brad Peyton, Atlas also features the likes of Sterling K. Brown, Simu Liu, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong. It’ll land on Netflix on 24 May.
